Actually Julian Assange is not hiding out to escape arrest for rape. There was a trumped up demand brought by Sweden in an attempt to get Assange extradited so he could be sent on to the Americans. Even the woman involved in the sexual incident did not say there had been a rape, the sex was consensual but a condom wasn't used and she wanted him to have a test for STD's that's it, the politicians used this as an excuse to try and have him extradited for questioning, no charges were laid because their was no crime and the whole matter was dropped because the Swedes refused to question him in England which would been perfectly normal unless they really only wanted to get him on Swedish soil so they could extradite him to the US. The British government is still planning to arrest Assange even though he was never charged or questioned because they too will extradite him to the US on espionage charges. The press has been very helpful in promoting the rape story even though it never happened but it is an excellent way to slander one of the few real journalists left.

@Surfpirate I just read that the charges were not dropped but the investigation has stopped because it’s been 7 years and there’s nothing left to do, with him hiding out, I also read that one case is for stealthing, which is absolutely rape. I didn’t want to admit to myself that Bill Cosby is a monster. Alas....

@FreethoughtKaty I've been following the case since he was first under house arrest. It's been 7 years and all that Sweden had to do was go to London and question him but they refused to, the first investigation determined that there were no grounds for charges, it was only later that demands for questioning arose when the US wanted to get there hands on him. There is a great deal written about Assange, most of it bullshit but the facts stand. No charges laid, nothing but numerous attempts to extradite Assange to the States, even the UN found in Assanges favour. Bill Cosby is another case entirely, popular and well loved he was a sexual predator but people refused to believe it because the idolized him. Assange was never well loved, he exposed the worst of the powerful people of the world who are used to getting away with murder, no Assange was not idolized even his fellow journalists turned their backs on him because he showed them up to be the political panderers that journalists have become.
