What is the one spice/herb in your cupboard that you reach for most often when cooking? (Salt is NOT a spice/herb)
Top 10 in order: Fresh ground black pepper, Garlic (minced jarred, NEVER powdered), Oregano, Creole seasoning, Cumin, Chile powder, Thyme, Dill, Saffron & Paprika.
Lemon pepper.
Only one? In that case, it's garlic powder.
Garlic is my first choice as well, usually fresh, but I started using garlic powder when my daughter was young and suspicious of anything in her food. Onion powder as well. They season without leaving a trace to be found.
I can't say one becuase I use a combo a lot.
Oregano, basil, parsley, garlic, onion.
I seen to put these 5 in almost everything. Meatloaf, breading, even my pancake batter.
I season everything, so there's no single spice I use most often. I use Montreal Steak seasoning in place of salt and pepper a lot of the time (because it contains both, and flavor). Lots of cumin, chili powder, garlic, curry, smoked paprika, oregano and basil, too.
