I find this kind of concerning for the future of male existence. It seems to me that women don't really like men all that much and, given the ability to procreate without us, would just assume we not exist. Any thoughts about this?

I largely agree. About half of the women here have no use for us. But think about it: for the last 50 years, women have cooperated with each other, concentrated on themselves, and worked to eliminate their dependency on men. Meanwhile, we men have done almost nothing to improve ourselves as a sociological group.
Women continue to hold a virtual monopoly on nurturing, socialization, and emotional healing. They can get along fine without us - it's we who need them.
I'm pretty sure we'll all be dead before they could arrange this. However, within the US culture of Puritanism and Disney, a sizable percentage of women are self-saturated with envy and hatred of men. These ladies would go for the plan you describe. What is so interesting is how thoroughly this issue is censored from various media. However, if you want to talk about men envying or hating women, that is totally OK. The contrast is tellingly stark. Some comments below are perfect examples.
Thank you all for the concern of self-esteem but I’m gay so, no, it’s projecting or penis size. Of course I’m not referring to 100% of women. That would be insane for any topic or either gender.
I don’t see much evidence for men being valued much and we are about to lose being in control of power, I think. While this article may seem to help infertility I think it could easily become a way to choose only female children and eliminate men. We do have the ability to genderize the fetus, also.
The way men generally treat women, I can understand their wanting to do without men. Being a gay man, I have met many men whom I'd rather like to do without. Some men are just selfish arrogant prigs, who don't know how to love or care for (or about) another person and are totally oblivious to their short comings and blame others for their inability to find someone.
Then again, some men are kind and caring. Unfortunately, those men are usually taken.
Generalization are inherently evil, but...
In many cases a young woman seeks a man she can respect as similar to her father, the role model for masculinity in her life.
Definitely not for 100%, but often.
One can't speak 100% for any animal or societal order. However, we can speculate in general and be mostly in the ballpark.
