Someone who respects me and has my best interests at heart, who accepts me for who I am and appreciates what I've gone through. Someone I can talk to and laugh with and who "gets" me, and where the feeling is mutual.

Having someone listen to you and be interested in the same things you are and whats going on in your life. Being affectionate and considerate and having interesting things to say.
