I once worked with a 'Comedia del Arte' group at the University of South Alabama. We had this one fairy (played by a sweet, young southern girl) who was supposed to say 'Hail, Mortals!" , but try as she may, with her thick Appalachian unable to be curbed, it always came out as 'Hell Mortals!".
So we changed her line to 'Greetings!"
It is in this spirit that I welcome you
