FTA: Our nation will need separation of church and state more than ever in the years to come. There’s never a good time to undermine that principle, but this is certainly one of the worst. As 325 million people struggle to live side by side—people who practice a variety of religions and some who practice none—only the separation principle can protect the rights of all.
The alternative is a form of religious supremacy, a society where some people have more rights than others, by dint of their faith. That’s unacceptable. It’s a recipe for conflict, tension, and division. Yet, thanks to Trump’s desire to appease his religious right base, it’s where we may be headed.
**I for one don't care at all if and when others have religious stuff - Christmas trees, manger scenes, Jewish decorations - to me, none of it matters anyway so what the heck ? I don't agree that public should be spent on religious stuff but again, its not that much so, what the heck ? In the end, it doesn't matter. They are not going to go to any heaven and I am not going to any hell. I often wonder why anybody cares. I am surprised already that the strong Christian element in this country has not been able to stop the porn, vulgar rap, drugs, and so on . Guess they are not as strong as I though they were. I don't need '' my rights '' protected. They already are protected, by me, by my mind and thoughts. I am not offended to see a Jesus desplay - so what ? Doesn't have a thing to do with me so it just does not matter.
We are beyond screwed.
We're SO beyond screwed, that it would take the
light from 'screwed' 25 billion light years to reach us.
We would have been screwed big time had Hillary been elected.
@Trajan61 Whatever. You believe all sorts of wrong stuff. Calling me an "idiot" and a "liberal" means nothing to me. Especially since I'm not either. Same for saying that "conservatives live in the real world". If that's what you believe, then it's clear that you do not.
The world is not divided into liberals and conservatives. It's not an "either/or" proposition. There are other people, more people actually, who prefer middle ground. Extremes are rarely ever a good idea.
You can come at me any way you please. It really doesn't matter. What you think of me doesn't matter. You've made it clear to anyone paying attention that you have no idea what you're talking about. So, rant on if it makes you feel better.
45 is a traitor, and you still support a traitor.
Just because you are incapable of accepting facts about the traitor you're choosing to support, means nothing to me. Neither does your opinion of me.
Go have an aneurysm somewhere else.
Time for a revolution. Stop paying your taxes people. Money talks the loudest to these assholes.
Now that Trump is president there’s hope for America. With Hillary we would have been screwed.
