We had lots of bullies throughout my school years, I copped it forever and a girl who lived near me copped it at least as bad. I even caught some kids who had enticed her dog out of her yard and were trying to drown it in a local creek. Occasionally I can lose my temper, Bonnie lived to a good old age. The girl in question is now one of our most successful scientists, or was, she retired a couple of years ago, never married, excellent surfer and a most stunning looking woman. She will be 59 soon and my high school students drool over her. So, don't let bullies determine how your life will be, it is your life, you are in control, and please, get rid of negative people, out of your facebook contacts, and out of your day to day world. I have a brother I don't speak to and my life is far better because of it.

In my opinion, bullying is as bad as rape and should be treated as such. It tears people apart and leaves a lifelong wound that never fully heals. Those of us who suffered through the anguish can't fulfill our greatest potential in work and relationships. We trudge through life in constant fear. When we try to step out of the safety of our shells and is the tether that pulls us back.

From your previous posts, you appear to have had a very difficult past. My suggestion, which you are perfectly entitled to disregard, is to have some trusted confidants to whom you can open up and discuss things with freely. the other people will simply drift in and out of your life very temporarily and generally on a superficial level.

Bullying is wrong. People who bully have their own demons. In Jr. High School I had a bout of it. The school counselor brought us all together in a group which helped somehow. I was still insecure for another two years. Started hanging out with tougher girls, outcasts, and found myself becoming my own person. @Sarahroo don't be afraid to get out there more.

Agreed, not everyone has a solid support network and can just let things roll off their shoulders. Sorry your bullied, people mistake kindness for weakness.

I'm so sorry to hear you've been bullied. I really do not like bullies and I do not believe you will find any here. Too many thinking reasoning people who respect the community. I hope you enjoy the site.
