The link below is a story from Texas. Apparently a Judge in a sex trafficking case told the jury God wants a not guilty verdict. What's sad is because it is God and not, lets say the Easter Bunny the good folks of Texas won't bat an eyelash at this outrageous claim.
Another criminal theocrat raging against our secular republic
I wonder what was in it for the judge? Did he hope that the accused would offer to pay him in kind after an acquittal?
The judge is pandering to xian voters ILLEGALLY if not acting out of his local xian cult that has brainwashed him out of judicial duty to secular law
No. Just plain no. Remove him from the bench.
I saw that.. unfortunately his probably still a judge, but i hope ot.
It is in Texas, where they teach dinosaurs roamed the earth with humans and were on the Ark and that our nation was founded on Christianity.
@misstuffy and Atheist President Jefferson was removed from Texas textbooks
@GreenAtheist I know they rewrote history to depict the founding fathers as devout Christians founding this as a Christian nation. I wonder how they will keep their students from Googling the truth?
I'm shocked that judges are allowed to address the jury directly about their decision like this... God or no, a figure of authority can easily influence people's behaviour.
Which is why we need to ensure Judges like this are removed.
@misstuffy I think it's a flaw in the judicial system that they can guide the jury, no matter what their beliefs or lack thereof.
Hi Misstuffy,it is not only sad that you have folks in Texas that won't bat an eyelid but also incredulous that you have a judge who is quoting a supernatural diety instead of using what he is supposed to have and that is good judgement. That judge needs to be sacked.
I agree. But the Bible does condone child sex trafficking and he is a Bible thumper and sees nothing wrong with what that woman did. Never mind our laws, apparently the laws of an apparation trump our own.
It seems like a judge trying to influence the jury's decision must be a violation of the law. He should be removed from the bench for this.
Exactly my thoughts. I also question the idea that God spoke to him. IF he said fairies were talking to him
