The question has been discussed on how to respond to a sneeze. Here are a few responses from around the world.
I don't wait for anyone to say anything....I immediately say "excuse me" just as if I had burped. Usually I am saying "excuse me" at the same time that some uneducated person is saying "bless you" and I just "give them the look". LOL
If someone sneezes in my presence, I don't say anything unless they say "excuse me" or "pardon me" and then I say "you're excused" or inquire if it's a cold or allergies.
My question is what is the proper way to respond when someone says "god bless you" after you sneeze.
My annoyance with god quotes aside, it just seems awkward.
Are you supposed to say "Thank You"? It seems like the only appropriate response other than a joke or sarcastic comment.
I just don't say anything when someone sneezes, but I like "salud".
I recall a snarky remark from my younger days. God doesn't bless people who spread germs.
