One thing that occurs to me, the limited number of people who subscribe to Gaia is pretty small in the overall picture. It seems like it is a large number. But in reality its not. I personally do not believe that this group is a danger to science. First members, of this group tend not to espouse or use mainstream avenues of communication. There ability to sway opinion is limited to only like minded persons. They lack the appeal to sway society.
