Who out there has made a career change? I am currently a blood banker in a hospital, and I feel like I've peaked in this particular line of work. I am toying with the idea of going back to school to become a pathologist assistant, which means another two years in school which actually excites me. I've come to love school, just not the tuition costs (booo).
I know what I do now makes a small difference in the world, but it's monotonous a lot of the time.
So many of the people I served with stuck with their profession, but when I retired from the military in my early 40's, I went back to college, got another degree and went to work in a field altogether different from what I was doing. Tried making the switch when I was on active duty, but wasn't permitted. No regrets and it's totally doable. Good luck to you!
It sounds like a good move. I hope it works out for you!
