I think the GOP was and is willing to lose the female vote in November to have Kavanagh on the bench for say the next 25 years. His confirmation establishes a solid conservative judiciary which will have a major impact on the course of the nation over its term. It sucks but it is a major accomplishment for the GOP who I think, really only care about results. Means don't interest them.
