How do you people understand the origins of man, do you accept any of the Genesis stories I.e Noah and his sons are the origin of modern day man?

The real origins of modern humans would astound you. For a start mankind did not evolve in Africa! Mankind is millions of years old, all we know about civilization being only 6 000 years old is rubbish. The Medes where entrusted with the truth of the past civilization nearly 9,000 years ago after the last but one great destruction that decimated most of the forms of humans that existed at that time and they have kept the secrets ever since. They have permitted several "Prophets" or enlightened ones but mankind has only corrupted their teachings and created stupid religions and pathetic beliefs from them, like the bible, a complete work of fiction from beginning to the end.

The flood story of Noah in the Bible is a copy of the great deluge found in the epic of Gilgamesh

Not only the legend of Gilgamesh but several others like the Babylonian story of Utnapishtim who was also selected by the gods to build a boat. There has never been a universal flood but there have been several earth changing events dating back to the last Ice Age and several great flooding events particularly in Mesopotamia.

@Drou true some minds weren’t to be opened so they just ridicule because it’s easier than actually looking

Absolutely not, Noah is one of the stupidest stories that I know. Genesis is a feeble attempt to explain the physical world, among the rest of it.

I think of the bible as similar to the cave paintings--efforts by humans to understand and manipulate the world. Science tells us that we have been around for many hundreds of thousands of years, and we find out more information frequently. I put as much stock in Genesis as I do the stories of Hansel and Gretel and Snow White.

If no one believes in God then how can any country be a Christian country? The story of a human that is the son of a god must be pure mythology like the rest of the book that records his existence. Therefore anyone who calls him/her self a Christian, Jew, Muslim etc is admitting he/she is suffering from delusions and should be seen as mentally deranged. Is this not so?

No to Noah. Like that fairly often, another human fossil is found, and it is older than though.

I love the study of the origin of man. I rely on archeology, dig sites, and geologist to date the finds, rather than written records. Man is much older than any written records.

That is so true Leutrelle, man is possibly millions of years old and we are not the first civilization - probably the last!

Even the Pope believes in evolution and the Big Bang, he reckons God had a hand in it but doesn't deny the process!

The menstrual cycle of women is in synch with orbit of Phobos, not Earth's moon.

No that's a pile of crap. hold your eyelid open and you will understand why fish don't need them and that eyes are one of the things our ancestors brought with them out of the water.

Man evolved over millions of years. Life started in the Ocean. The Bible is early mans attempt to make sense of it all

Do I believe that Noah and his sons repopulated the world with the help of Mrs Noah?

Let me think about that one and I'll get back to you.....

AHAhahahaha!

I have no need to understand the origin of man... I don't even care much where is going... destination is going to happen after me... just like origin was before me. I am Now... enough for me. No need to have a theory or two.

The only part I go with is everything that was created was good, Chapter One. I like happy stuff, everything after the mist is the human tale of tragedy and dispair. If thoughts are real I say be happy. Endlessly arguing can be mentally stimulating but archeology, as much as the Bible thumpers want to ignore it, says humans and the earth are much older than 6000 years. This probably seems overly simple but it's just my opinion.

… “you people”? I’m convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt in the fact of human, if not all evolution on our planet. It’s truly a joy to be alive ‘now,’ and capable of - not only delving into the mountains of research -- but hang on the cutting edge of discovery.

Myths? Surely, you jest ~
