Valentine's day is fast approaching, what are your feelings. Forced displays of affection or gooey sweet ways to show that special someone how much you love them?
Valentines day is over commercialised in my humble opinion. It is fine to do something on that day - but - the rest of the days of the year should actually be just as important. Showing you care for someone should be 24/7 365 days a year. A comment. A morale boost. A surprise. Small things can make big meanings.
Hallmark* Day.
Far too many of them.
*Hallmark is a UK greetings card company.
I am a romantic. I love the time... good salsa parties to dance. In a 8 days period I got 3 salsa activities to go dancing with the dance partner of my life.... before I depart DC. So I got my schedule full the way I like it. If I find a target, I will figure it out once the opportunity presents... So looking forward for the period. Romance, Romance, Romance.
It's just business. Marketing goes a hell of a long way with some people. Take for instance the diamond market. They've somehow convinced women and men alike that the man doesn't really love the woman unless he spends a month or so salary on a diamond ring to get engaged.
I'm indifferent to it, just letting people enjoy it. Oh I get annoyed by the mass market appeal nonsense sure, but it's far easier to ignore than something like Christmas where you get almost 2 months of the crap.
I usually entice a lovely lady from New Zealand into an all expresses paid trip to Los Vegas then involve her in a bank robbery on horseback to finance it. After that, we're disappearing to shop for classy threads and dress to the 9s, then go to the casino to show after show, eventually laundering the money at a black jack table counting cards, taking the casino big time. Then off to Tahiti Friday and Saturday. Travel on Sunday, back to work on Monday.
Excellent plan, beats chocolate and roses
Box of chocolates and a dozen roses, just like all those years before. The chocolates are for me, the roses are hers.
