To be honest the time was decades ago but not enough people with the clout to do anything about it actually did, and I include consumers. Whether there's a consumer and political will to actually do something now is open to question.

There is to much plastic and paper being used to wrap products than is necessary and it is time that corporations reduce the usage of these products to wrap products and for use in restaurants. These plastics and paper are in our oceans comprising thousands of pounds of waste harming sea life, reefs and navigation. Since their products made this mess they should jointly make an effort to clean it up.This would be a great way to earn good will by these corporations.
