My daughter Claire met her niece, Nina, in 2015 at a family reunion at Lake Chelan. Claire was 25 and Nina was 12. They look exactly alike!

Nina, 16, brought a gift bag to Claire and Matt's wedding in September 2018. "To Matt and Claire" the tag said. Inside was neatly folded clothing.

"They were my clothes!" Claire said, laughing. "I loaned Nina my party and festival clothes to cover her up. She gave me my own clothes as a wedding present."

"I will laugh about this for the rest of my life," Claire said.

Here are the lookalikes at the wedding. Claire, 28, and Nina, 16. Nina looks taller because she was wearing high heels. Friends for life.

Nina's father is the nephew of Claire's dad, Terry Valdez. Both girls have white mothers.
