What do the symbols and percentage numbers mean? If I see a 89%, is that estimated compatibility? And, what is the little eye shaped symbol?

Yes, it's estimated compatibility. The eye icon has to do with profiles viewed, or in entry widgets a preview of what you've written (click on it).
