Share one song that you cannot help but sing along with when it comes on the radio. The one that makes you go into "super star" mode.
" if you could read my mind" by Gordon Lightfoot.
Love Gord. Amazing songwriter. Had the privelege of hanging out with him a few times.
Oh my gosh, I LOVE Gordon. I will listen to the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald on repeat.
Oh man. I LOVE the verbal imagery in that song.
@Hominid - you definitely should see him while you can. Every time he comes around could be his last, so I go.
I got acquainted with him in the mid 00’s... in Vegas or Reno, he’d come hang out on the casino floor after a show so we had a few conversations. Got to jam with Terry Clements in his room once, who was an amazing gypsy player and a great guy. I miss him!
I was actually trying to convince Gordon to let me produce his next album, and he even called me at home once to discuss it (thankfully a friend was over at the time, or else nobody would believe me lol).
It’s such an honor to be 1 on 1 with someone who’s music you heard on the radio as a child.
Bohemian Rhapsody
This make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
Me too!
Wayne's World IMMORTALIZED Freddie's beautiful mock-opera... if ya can't poke fun at it, it's too snooty for R&R
@WizardBill Just don't look at your mind's eye when you sing it.
"Highlander" reference alone...... Ok and I love "Queen".
He had an amazing range. [consequenceofsound.net]
The "one".... hahahahah
I've got a mountain of them.
I've got like five just in the David Bowie category.
How about this? If they would play this on the radio just one time, I'd sing along like a mofo.
Wow, love the sacrilege... without the religious stomping, Bwana Dik by FZ & the Mothers of Invention is pretty similar fun
When my friend and I sing this at the top of our lungs, after a couple drinks, we sound like we should go on tour -- Helen Reddy's "I Am Woman."
Okay, so I'm exaggerating a bit. I have a terrible singing voice. But it's FUN!
Kind of a corny song to admit to, but that's what it is. And, actually, it's tied with "Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A."
Watch "ANDY GIBB - I Just Want To Be Your Everything" on YouTube
I was 24 when this came out...
This gets me doing the nasty moves when I hear it!
DNCE - Cake By The Ocean
System of a down- chop suey I love that song can't help but sing to it.
I don't listen to the radio but when this song rolls up from my mix my oldest son and I tear it up.
I sing to almost everything recorded before 2000. Whether I know the words or not.
But probably Elvis Costello's What's So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding is my most requested.
The request is usually to turn that shit down. I like it because my son also dig's Elvis.
One gets me unstoppable though it is instrumental: Battle Without Honor or Humanity from the Kill Bill soundtrack.
For singing along? Break On Through from the Doors and 18 Wheeler from P!nk.
Coconut
This is the song I sing to my grandkids as a lullaby. They all learn it by the time they're 4.
I used to sing it to my daughter when she was little. @Eazyduzzit
