Dan Savage is a gay man who gives advice relationship advice to heterosexuals and others. I've listened to quite a few of these, and his perspective is a little different than most. For example, he said that monogamy is the only human activity that requires perfect performance, which is not true of any other human activity. An artist may be widely recognized and appreciated, but will not lose their reputation for making one bad piece of art. On the other hand, a person may be monogamous for 40 years, and one passionate kiss can destroy that relationship.
