How much sleep do you need?
I get about 5 hours, usually. I would love to get more, but I'm just not a sleeper-inner.
I've been a pretty stable 8 hour a night guy my whole life, but as I entered my 60s I found that 10 is what I really need. I think it's a function of poorer quality sleep -- everything hurts, getting up to pee every 1.5 to 3 hours, the latter task no longer being something to successfully / properly accomplish half asleep, then getting back to sleep, etc etc.
I also use a CPAP and anyone who has those knows they're a very mixed blessing, particularly if like me you use it not for sleep apnea but just to not snore so your partner can sleep.
As such I find sleep is no longer the sabbatical from the struggle of existence that it used to be, either.
As much as I can get. I'm on vacation so to speak, so sleeping well into the afternoon is common. But 8 hours is generally enough.
I am retired... is not what I need is what I want to do because I can and there is no alarm clock in the house.
