I need some new music recommendations... I’m getting older and slipping into the acoustic scene... any suggestions?
Here's the acoustic version of a song I posted a week ago which has gotten zero likes or comments. Is most everyone in the Agnostic/Atheist community already familiar with this artist since many of her songs, including this one, have an overtly Atheistic perspective?
Aussie hip-hop trio: Blis n Eso
They have more mainstream hip-hop like Moments.
But I think their song Addicted is their true "title" song.
Some of the lyrics from Addicted.
"...How can every religion claim to be the only one
How can they preach love yet fight each other holding guns
I think the golden sun may be able to shed some light
I'd rather push peace and knowledge to defend our rights"
...
We're all equal yet they push synthetic separation
But in this matrix I won't be failin' to make it
This is my cosmos baby, space sailin' with Sagan
...
Earth is my garden and I grew from it
I pay the youth homage cause I know their view's honest..."
But the chorus is the best hook, of course:
"...Who are you to tell me how to live my life
Cause I won't give this up
These are my shoes, my view
My cue to say I do give a fuck
...
Cause I'm addicted (Uh-Oh), I'm addicted (Uh-Oh)
I'm addicted to this universal feeling called life"
Y’all are awesome!!!! Thanks for the suggestions!!!
Lately I've been listening to a lot of Dave Rawlings and Gillian Welch, Tyler Childers, Bruce Cockburns acoustic stuff and you have to check out Josh Turner and the Other Favorites on YouTube. Super talented young kids.
Not sure if this will play on your side of the pond.
Everlastings life acoustic is a good record of contemporary music done acoustic n I liked nirvana's unplugged album. Todd Snider is a terrific folk singer. Geez John Prone, Guy Clark, Robert Earl Keen, but I only like his stuff when someone else sings it.
As much as I hate to admit it, I like Ed Sheeran, I even cover a team. Check out the Woods Brothers if you have already. I suggest "smoke ring halo" or "luckiest man" as good starting points.
