They lost their Chinese market and Trump the dealmaker has been unable get it back. Tarriffs are Trump taxes and we pay them, not the Chinese. In turn the Chinese have tarriffed American Agricultural goods while making good deals with other countries for these same items. The American farmer has been screwed royally by these Trump taxes. Remember as these Americans go bankrupt, "No farms, no food". MAGAMYASS!
That article is BS. Corn is at a higher price today than it was when Trump took office. They are comparing 2008 (A peak in the commodities bubble) to 2018.
@Closeted Soybeans are down a little from Jan 2017, but they are WAY down from 2008 which the article used for comparison. Of course farmers aren't doing as well today as they were in 2008, they were making huge profits in 2008 because of the worldwide commodities bubble:
