My daughter tells me that people in michigan are the only one that call it what I do.

I have lived in Ohio and Louisiana. I call it a shopping cart or grocery cart.

I have heard people call it trolley, buggy, or just cart.

It's a shopping cart. However, when I lived in Tennesse, I discovered that some people called it a buggy. I told my spouse at the time to hit me over the head if I ever started calling it a buggy. I got out before that ever happened.

Here in Mississippi it is a buggy & they look confused if you call it a cart. In CA it was only a cart & NEVER a buggy. Here & there I've heard people call them shopping baskets, even.
