Well, I can't fully agree. If you know the system well and know how to use the bank's offers correctly, everything gets easier and more accessible for anyone. For example, I was paying enormous taxes for the current account in my home country, Germany, but after I found this informative article: [girokontokuendigen.de] everything changed. Now, I know how to use some tools correctly, and before making any decisions regarding the bank, I check multiple sources to make sure I'm choosing the most convenient for me and my needs.
Yep,I’ve thought that myself for awhile. The currency god,is brushing aside the god of jehovah, almost completely. Just look what it’s done to any given holiday
yet another social construct. This one we almost all believe in
Market forces are definitely a faith-based system. I'd say that currency itself, as representative of commodity, isn't a problem, but market speculation, investment stocks, commodity futures, etc., are elements that make an economy akin to religion. South Park had an excellent episode about this very thing — worth checking out if you haven't seen it. (South Park, Season 13 Episode 3: Margaritaville)
Sorry but I don't do weapons of mass DECEPTION.I am not into television telling me what to think, I don't even own one for 15 years.... I prefer books and documentaries.!
shrug It was just a funny episode that illustrated the point I think you're making about market forces. I'm not trying to deceive anyone or promote propaganda.
Is true . . . My father now dead is pastor. We have own church, many money, always money after church service.
and you became an Atheist?
I think capitalism as it is played at the moment is very destructive of the societies that practice it, creating cycles of activity and wealth and poverty. We need a new system that inhibits the generation of such huge differences in wealth and incomes that capitalism alloys to build up. Unfortunately the current possessors of the excess wealth would be extremely unwilling to see any changes that would mean that they would be less well off than they now are, so would use their wealth and resulting power to thwart any proposed changes that gave more equity to the masses.
People stick with Capitalism in a false dichotomy as if the only viable choice
I think what you are saying is very accurate in the way the religion is practiced and has been practiced. However, the way religion is practiced is also totally contrary to their own doctrines and scriptures. This is because religion (and dogma) is just one more excuse or justification used to solidify power in the upper classes. It also, in part, is why Marx said, "religion is the opium of the masses."
People are Brainwashed in more than one way...religion is one of the institutions that will provide this service but Politics is another.
@ThomasMeador - Religion has always influenced politics. You can go back to the Egyptian Pharaohs and see the religious differences caused a lot of strife and problems in Ancient Egypt. Constantine made Christianity the offical religion of the Roman state in order to better control the masses. The Christian church9es) has influenced and or controlled, European leaders for over 1500 years. It is true that when churches were made tax exempt in teh U.S. under the condition that they stay out of politics (it is actually written into the tax code), tht religions kept more on the sidelines, but hey still had moderate influence over politics , until they recently decided to get directly involved again, probably not realizing that by doing so they may lose their tax exempt status which is specifically conditional on their not being directly involved in politics.
