I live and work in a heavy Trump voter area, and facts about him don't seem to matter much. The main take away I get is this; many people lower down on the economic rung are very angry at the decisions DC has made for them for decades. They see Trump as an avatar of their anger. What he says and does is irrelevant, as long as he is upset at the people and systems they mistakenly blame for their problems. They feel heard for once regardless of what he actually does.
He had people duped into thinking he was going to bring about change and basically sold them swamp land in Florida tellling them everything they wanted to hear. Has yet to do anything good for the common people other than line the pockets of the wealthy and upper 10% for those that support him laughing all the way to the bank. Very embarassing to live in American right now.
It does look like Trump is being ignored by pretty much everyone in power, excepting as they can use his buffonery to further their own aims.
