LINK Georgia councilman complains about interracial marriage while defending mayor’s racist statement – ThinkProgress

This councilman also tried to defend the mayor's decision not to hire someone black because “because he is black, and the city isn’t ready for this.”

His thoughts on interracial marriage? Here is a quote:

“I’m a Christian and my Christian beliefs are you don’t do interracial marriage."

Seeing that so many conservative states- like TX- are trying to pass laws which allow religious people to discriminate if they have "sincerely held beliefs", wouldn't he be able to say it is against my "sincerely held religious beliefs" to hire people in interracial relationships?

This is so sad. Religion used as an excuse to have a hateful attitude.

religion IS a hateful attitude

How sad. This really is white supremacy bound up in religious disguise.
