They wanted Smedley Butler to form an army of ex-service members, to overthrow FDR. Plot fizzled, because Butler spilled the beans to Congress about it. Strangely, however, none of the principles were ever prosecuted.

Yep, such a patriot. His company and he were fined for selling goods to the Nazis after a ban went into effect.
