Cannablalism & Lab Grown Meat...
[livescience.com]
Why would Dawkins want us to overcome a cannibalism taboo?
That didn't make any sense to me, either. With all the different animal cultures to possibly choose from, why would you want to go human???
@phxbillcee and the wording made it sound like overcoming sexual inhibition or something similar
@btroje I think that is one inhibition we should hold onto. Even if "lab-grown" human meat were available there would be some, especially if the inhibition were lessened, that would want to try the "real thing" & would probably pay well for it, by any means.
From my own experience sampling it no, thank you, it tastes awful and needs to have artifical flavour, colouring and texture altering chemicals added. Not to mention just how morally wrong it is; the principal reason for developing it is to increase mega corporation's profits., by using it to manipulate the live animal price paid to farmers.
What people seem to want to ignore is the fact that it consume valuable plant protein to produce and require huge energy use as well.
Regardless of the original cells used it is just as unethical to produce and by the way it will never look like the meat in the photo at the top of the article.
