Why was freedom of religion put in the constitution?

What does the preacher man want over others ?
Hmmm. My answer is control and money. To get this from another human being, is to offer hope, freedom, and outrageous promises. The followers are mostly the oppressed with dreams of prosperity and longevity. Its a dream of being within a selective group of angels in heaven when they die. Just keep coming back and bring a bribe (money) with you. What!!! Its abuse to humans and their children too.
Control and fear and the fear of acceptance in society. Religion was forced down the throats of the new settlers of the united states. From England before people tried to run from it. Whats your take on this???

It's called FREEDOM. Freedom to chose your own religion or NONE AT ALL!

Thank you. I guess i got carried away. After reading all those history books and seeing how people were oppressed with religion. Hmmm..The second amendment gives us the right to bare arms. Have you noticed how that turned out. They government understood later on that could of been a mistake. A lot of things are a mistake and a control issue. During that time there was a fear if death because of religion. Those that had no fear took up the cause to become powerfull. Lets call them Catholic. It was a license to do what ever they wanted because it was in the name of god. The dress code was even piwerfull. People believed all the ritual and speaking in Latin. Sure you got a freedom of religion. But now that you here on this forum with non believers. Do you see a freedom?

Or none at all. Try not believing back then. You would of been labeled and burned in a cross.

Because our forefathers, who were intellectuals, understood that religion is a mental affliction, but also understood that most people don't really like that idea and its better not to confront it openly at this time. 😀

Two major reasons: (1) most Americans of the time believed in religion, (2) Americans did not want to have a specific religion imposed on them by the state. A major cause of the Revolutionary War was fear that Great Britain would impose the Anglican church on the colonies. Read alan Heimert's THE MAERICAN MIND FROM THE GREAT AWAKENING TO THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR.
