You do need to be crazy to understand me, but I'm sure it helps. Being alone 95% of the time with only my dog to talk to weird things are always popping in and out of my thoughts. I talk to him but all he wants to talk about is food, mostly treats.

Perhaps your dog is just an outlet for your own ruminations. There is a new book out titled 'The Stranger in the Woods' about a young man disappearing in the woods of Main. He was alone for 27 years and no one could find him. He was actually hiding in plain sight and stealing supplies to survive. The crux of the story is the idea being a hermit and living alone. This environment can cause all kinds of reflections and ponderings on the state of things. It actually talked about how religious groups saw this as a threat and found ways to control it. This is a non-fiction and was one of the most amazing books I have read.

I'm sure that's not true about your dog. He wants to play, interact, cuddle, sleep, get some exercise, ... Sounds like you need to get out of yourself, get some exercise, play, cuddle, ...

Try having to decipher three dogs wagging tongues. ????
