From 2017, but still painfully relevant
“Americans make up about 4.4 percent of the global population but own 42 percent of the world’s guns”
With a large percent of Americans, violence is expected, because they think it is someone else who has committed violence, not themselves. It is clear our culture condones violence, and always has, though many individuals despise it morally. What is morally unclear to those who ignore mass shootings and condone large scale gun ownership is that their apathy about gun violence is to blame for the continued maimings and death which will continue.
Only 42%? Those are rookie numbers!
Well it was two years ago. I am confident the number of guns per capita has increased.
@Science-guy
You know, now with the "ghost gun" tech and interest... there's no way to actually tell how many guns are out there. I'm curious as to the 42% figure. Is that registered? If so. At least double that number. even before you consider the growing presence of "ghost guns".
