There are still good people in the world and people with the means and energy to do things like this. It is, at times, disheartening that assholes - often evangelical hypocrites- who try and sometimes succeed at stopping good people from doing what is right because said assholes lay out a misguided moral philosophy. Those same assholes who demand an end to abortion, then ignore children once born, etc.
