Pot Smokers: What are some of the positive and negative benefits you get from this illegal weed?
I'm not sure why or how it's illegal, but that's another post. Some of the positive benefits for me: Helps me 'see' other ways of thinking, is great with friends and conversations, and is relaxing. Negatives: Can cause lack of motivation, bad for short-term memory, and can be easily abused to 'escape'.
I've indulged for over 50 years, off and on, mostly off. I've gone days, weeks, months, and even years without. It has had no negative effects that I can detect, so far. I only get high on a whim, and that's not too often. I don't pay for it, haven't for decades-friends always share. Anyway, it's totally legal in Cali now, so I don't even have that to be concerned about. What it has done for me over the years is forced me into the recognition of the impermanence of everything. It has driven my tendency to be very non-materialistic, and accepting of loss without bitterness. And to understand that all we have is now.
I see nothing wrong with pot. Smoking it is hard on your lungs. I would sooner eat a brownie or a lollypop, or some food and save my lungs. Other than that I don't think it is as wicked as alcohol. Alcohol slowly kills your liver. I have read many great reviews that say the script liguid is great. It is great for anxiety and chronic pain. I am a living witness, it is not addictive.
Gov -elect Northam favors decrim of pot so hopefully Virginia will join other places that either allow it or don't punish with jail......We shall see
I don't smoke it. I have tried it a few times and every time it just made me feel ill.
Maybe you need to rotate your brain. It happens to me sometimes.
I love Mary Jane, right now she is helping me through my current bout of insomnia. Negative is i need to find an edible supplyer or find somewhere i can bake edibles because i have to quick smoking my lungs are firm on that.
I’ve been using pot for 35 years.
It mellow me out, and reduces depression. I only use in the evenings.
And it’s been legal medically for 25 years here. I got my medical card for epilepsy (which I’ve suffered from since I was born).
I'm glad you found some relief.
I use only in the evenings myself also.
I haven't smoked in years, but when I did I had a little short-term memory loss, but nothing substantial.
I would also get lazy when I got high, but I usually tried to do it during a down time, that is, when I could kick back and enjoy it without having to do anything pressing.
Personally, I don't really feel strongly one way or the other about using it. I wouldn't mind social use but I don't often get the opportunity.
In a different vein, I can't believe the resistance to using it medicinally. My sister has a rare neurological condition in which she's always in pain, and she has a sensitivity to light and sound. Marijuana gives her a lot of relief but she has to depend upon out-of-state friends to get her some (it's illegal in all forms in our state) which rankles me no end.
Whew, thats a good question. Its been many years for me. I don't want to get started with that again. It was fun when i was young.
What was the main reason you quit?
