The lawsuit says the Madison, North Carolina-based company should never have sold a weapon as dangerous as the Bushmaster AR-15-style rifle to the public. The argument in a nutshell and not saying that it should succeed but it brings to light the severe need to curb if not ban sales of these weapons to the general public. I would lean towards selling them ONLY to people who have military service in their background as a complete ban would be next to impossible to enforce. Anyone else have a viable solution?
The case can proceed under Connecticut state law, and it doesn’t mean that the plaintiffs will prevail.
I hope it doesn't set a precedent like what happened to the tobacco companies.
