If the question of whether or not we live in a simulation is being taken seriously, wouldn't that imply that there would be some sort of being that we would consider a deity that is running the program or at least started it?
I have to simulate giving a damn about this "problem".
Without some (any) evidence, why would you (or anyone) take that seriously ?
I'm not saying it should be viewed as fact (yet), but even Elon Musk said there's like a billion to one chance that we don't live in a simulation. It's a very confident hypothesis, if nothing else. My question is: if it does end up being verified, would there still be reason to be atheist?
