No more lost gloves and mittens.

Inspired by the wrist strap on my new warm mittens (right), I sewed wrist straps on all of my hiking gloves and mittens.

Used soft elastic for the wrist area. Soft hem tape for the leash. Ta da!

Reminds me of elementary school. With four kids, my mother secured mittens with yarn that ran up our sleeves and across our shoulders inside our jackets.

Curiously, you posted this as I was at REI, shopping for new gloves (the last pair is nearly worn out, and I had some dividend to use up😉

@Haemish1

I call REI "Mecca."

@LiterateHiker
My membership is older than the clerk who rang up my order:/
I like the place, but in “BozeAngeles” - it’s become a bit too trendy, and pushing the limits of my budget.
They do have good stuff🙂

As a kid, my mittens & gloves were attached to my jacket sleeve cuffs with alligator-like clips and elastic straps.

@Bobbyzen

I have seen those clips. They hurt my tender wrists. Ouch!

@LiterateHiker I don’t remember the pinching part lol
