Nice sentiment. Religion, and even Nationalism are both being forced down American throats turning off our allies in the world.

@TheInterlooper American Exceptionalism seems to pass for civic nationalism in many of the arguments I've had on this site. "We can't do that here because this is America" to paraphrase.
@TheInterlooper Just watched the debating style of the bulk of US citizens with whom I've debated. I'll grant that JS Mill may not have recognised it, but it seems to be where the concept is at the moment.
