I have all these CDs that I had when I was younger, now I have all my music on my iPod Touch 6th Generation. I like it because I don't have to buy the whole CD to get a song I like off of the album with iTunes. If I want the whole CD I can get it. I now preview all the albums I buy on YouTube. If I like it then I will buy the whole album. CDs seem kind of redundant now with all the music players available and all the good cell phones being music players. I have a stereo that I never use anymore because there is no space in my room to set it up near an outlet. It's an MP3/radio/CD/cassette player. I bought it when I was 16-years-old. It is black and red. My LG V20 cell phone has a Hi-Fi Quad DAC for great sounding music. I rarely use it. I do have really good headphones I could use for it, but since iTunes won't allow me to put songs from there onto my SD card for my phone, I don't have much music on my phone. How do you listen to your music?
Yes and I have a death grip on my cassettes thank you very much /need try to transfer them thru the mp3 doohicky that's still in a box.....
I need digital turntable as some stuff I've got on vinyl is nowhere online. The turntable in my house is a flat horizontal surface holding a flower vase .... / I'm naughty
I've never seen a record player up close or heard one play.
@Sarahroo29 Well... storing vinyl is a labor of love, it doesn't take many for them to be quite heavy when it's time to move someplace. LOL
@Qualia Are those big discs?
I make my living off of CDs. I'll be moving about 25000+ across country in a few weeks. But, often times you can get a CD for not much more than the cost of a few songs- AND you can have a "hard copy," too. OR, I'll admit it... you can burn a copy of the CD, have the hard copy and sell it again- in that case, depending on the title, it'll be about, possibly less, than buying the mp3...
HOWEVER, I've been pondering something a music collector from a previous generation told me a few months ago... "Remember sitting around and listening to records for hours on end? Have you noticed it's more exhausting, harder to do now with CDs?" "It's because of the compression." Thinking back to the late 80's and since then... I think he's onlto something. I LOVE CDs. BUT, when I get to my new place in a few months, I'll be checking out more vinyl......
and this would apply moreso to MP3's, btw....
Cool.
I listen to everything on my phone
Nice.
I still have some few and some vinyl from years ago. I keep my music on my PC these days so I can put it on one device or another. All the music I've put on the pc has come from my collection. I use them as a backup for when a device gets corrupted by one thing or another. I like a few different kinds of music and I have downloaded a few tracks, but it's generally hard to select from so many available tracks. I'm picky about what I save, just like anyone else.
Cool. I have a lot of music on my CDs. I've also bought a lot of songs for my iPod in the last year.
