This would be easier for me if I still lived in Florida. I'm not a big fan of Oklahoma, so I'm probably a terrible guide here. But this is what I'd say:
In Oklahoma, I'd say there are some good "hole in the wall" restaurants. My favorite is the Japanese restaurant, Tokyo.
The OKC Civic Center sometimes has decent shows and some aren't that expensive. (I've found some great Groupons for some shows).
We have a racetrack/casino. I don't care for gambling, but I sometimes like to watch the horses run. There is also the Riverwind casino, which gets a lot of big name performers traveling through. So does Chesapeake Energy Arena.
As a small, inexpensive thing to do, there is a comedy club near me.
There are some interesting Escape Games in the area for a group thing.
Also, Top Golf is fun for just hanging out and smashing balls with a golf club. You try to hit the targets.
Lake Hefner is OK to walk around. I'm having trouble finding a lot of beautiful places to walk around in Oklahoma. The botanical gardens here are ... ok, if you're bored. Pretty sparse for the $7-8 bucks you have to pay to get in. I'm spoiled by the one I used to go to in Orlando, I guess.
Of course, the Downtown areas have bars. Horse and carriage rides. Little boat rides in the canal. I haven't done much there. It's not my scene.
How about where you live?
All of the North Coast of Antrim its amazing but then you could go down south to Donegal very easily its rugged, the scenery is a lot better than the society although the south is more hospitable (says me) , than the North
Why don't you try Bangor nice wee day trip
I say you should move to Colorado. LoL plenty of places to play tour guide. One of my favorite things to do when people come to visit.
The only thing it is missing is water!
@silvereyes I have been here for 18 years, and do a few new things every year, and still have things I haven’t done.
I am going to the Sand Dunes National Monument this weekend for the first time.
It is an amazing state.
You want a short answer or a book? I would actually have to add some negative notes so as to not attract people here. There is some concern about sprawl. I am going to post another bit I discovered today. I knew about this item because several of us were there at the photoshoot. I will give you a preview: [wa.aaa.com]
@silvereyes did you open it? Remember, I also lived in Ok and there were places I liked. My late partners son lived in Tulsa and we visited him. There were also interesting places. I think there a are things to see every where. But all we can show I are places we live.
@silvereyes Weird, I get the page and it seems other's do too. Try this one: [wa.aaa.com] or AAA Nick Teague
Maybe a few in St. Louis. I haven't lived there since age 13 but I do visit sometimes. My area right now has a restaraunt called Uncle Ernie's. It's new and re-built. Not much around here as my area has about 1200 people. I shop 5 miles away and work 12 miles away. Unless you go somewhere else you had best look to yourself for entertainment. None of this bothers me but I do remember that my ex didn't like it very well. Now she is 41 miles away in an area more to her liking.
If it excites you I'm not far from Meremac Caverns and Onandaga Cave.
Melbourne, Australia from the Dandenong Range to the Great Ocean Road, north to Echuca and the paddle steamers. Start at downtown and Flinders Street station, amazing public transport... there isn't enough space available to list all there is to do and see here.
