Is the USA leading the charge in widening the wealth gap?

DISCLAIMER: I am feeling highly cynical at the moment.

It seems to me that the wealth gap getting ever wider around the world. In your opinion, which country is at the forefront of this despicable event?

I don't know what is happening elsewhere in the world, but it is really growing and fast in this country. It is more likely to be the thing that destroys this country than anything else, as I see it. GREED IS NOT GOOD!

I’d say you’re right, sadly.. The US form of Cut-throat Capitalism is celebrated, even worshiped. In older, more advanced nations, wealth is rightfully scrutinized. In the US, with wealth admired above all, it’s growing political influence is dangerously ignored.

Under our current presidential administration, led by a wealthy-wannabee, the responsibility of the wealthy to the society that’s allowed them to prosper has been greatly reduced... Think ‘koch brothers/ industries.’ Are their billions spent to benefit the society - or themselves?

Consumption of goods and services is higher worldwide than ever before in history. The fact that someone has x amount of money does not in any way diminish that growing wealth.

It’s not a zero sum game. Money is not wealth.
