I stopped all antidepressant medications. It's been 2 weeks now and I have to drink sweet coffee to fall asleep. I do this about 3 in the morning and wake up at 7. I go to bed at 9pm and get up at 11pm and 1am and 3am. Its a real pain in my ass. I've stop swelling in my legs, ankles, and feet by getting off these medicines. I seem to feel a lot better but I can't sleep. I guess I'm going to have to exercise more often. Any suggestions?
If coffee makes you sleep, I'm guessing you have ADD, or adhd. A few times I had to do the same. Even a red bull knocked me out. But it's not all the time. So exercise, do yoga, listen to white noise, take calms or goodnight (both by hylands), and 5htp w/ melatonin. Do it everyday and get on a schedule. Good luck
A couple nice hits of some good weed, I am on medication for prostate cancer, has the seeding and yes it is an incredible journey just to pee. Just before going to bed I do a few hits on the bowl and begin to think about the dream I soon welcome. works all the time
I had mine removed over 20 years ago... I know your problems with that. I wish i had some legal weed... just going to wait till it's legal. Sorry about your problem brother.
@BucketlistBob I am waiting for legal also. I live in florida and we now have medical which no one can afford or get through the hurdles. The doctors I have all support the weed approach, Get this the system of medical care I am in will not prescribe opiates.
But it is the ability to pee and to do other things
@EMC2 that swollen prostate pinching off your pee is terrible . I know this.
@BucketlistBob Does it go away in the future? I was seeded Jan of 2018 and it is not fun
@EMC2 the seed kills the cancer. It will still stay swollen. Talk to your doctor. You may need to take medicine. AMITRIPTYLINE .... its for the bladder infection called interstitial cystitis. It somehow works as an antidepressant for nerve pain. It may help the pain. It helped me big time. I feel in love with it. Do this as soon as possible.
@BucketlistBob thanks I am looking into it now. I do so want relief from this thing
I want suggest some music I feel is well suited for aiding sleep. Though there are many genres you could choose from, I'd especially recommend the album Characters by John Abercrombie, as every track is suitable. Here is a sampling:
Thank you.
I’m a horrible sleeper. I find melatonin helps if I take it early enough. Otherwise I feel foggy the next day. I take lavender and camomile which seems to help more than anything else I have tried.
I suggest consulting a doctor...
Give her detailed descriptions of what is going on with your body and your life...
As much as I respect the opinions on here concerning religion and other social issues, I don't think it's a good resource for your particular HEALTH issues...
exercise is always good. I drink some Tonic water for RLS and sometimes take meloxicam for my arthritis in my shoulders. I am careful not to watch anything with Trump talking or FOX, otherwise I will be up all night seething.
Lessee..you could drop chocolate and foods that have caffeine, take a long walk in the early morning to reset your thyroid, and sleep rhythms, eat fish or turkey meat, and if all fails, take a pinch of catnip powder.
But it can knock you out pretty rapidly, so watch out.
This is ok as it is training for prostrate
Prostate?
Yep extra r to get you going.
I still don't don't get it. Spell it out for me.
When you need to get up and pee 5 times a night.
What are your health-related issues that you have a formal diagnosis for?
Can't sleep.
@BucketlistBob That could be a result of various health-related issues. When was the last time you had a physical or blood work? Have you ever had a sleep study done?
No sleep study. Probably a screwed up brain. To much of everything when I was younger.
Yes exercise, but don't have any caffeine within 6 hrs. of bedtime. If you must, substitute some other kind of sweet. What I have found as I've gotten older is that if I can even get to sleep soon after ingesting caffeine, I don't stay asleep as long or feel as rested when I wake. And they say that the light of computer moniters interferes with sleep onset, so an hour before bedtime, cease any online activities and perhaps read a book instead, or do something else relaxing like stretching.
I also have problems sleeping. I have to echo what the sleep specialist and doctors say. Practice good sleepy hygiene. I'm bad at that. Try to sleep at the same times every day. Try a day time nap to see if that helps with nighttime consistency. I love naps. Exercise helps. Also, I've read that your ability to sleep for long periods is more difficult as you age.
Before the industrial age we had two nighttime sleeps, with a period in the middle of the night where we were awake. [bbc.com]
