This could start a war! Religion again.
Jamal Ataturk must be spinning in his metaphorical grave! At one time, Turkey was an icon of secularity and now....well.
(I've been in this building. I went up the stairs to where the women had to pray, when it was a mosque. So many feet have climbed that stairway that there's an actual groove, just where you'd put your foot. Guess they'll tear out any remnants of its other lives and start broadcasting the call to prayer....AGAIN.)
@Lightupmylife Aren't the Xians who 'claim' it, predominately NOT Turkish and NOT in Turkey ?

@Lightupmylife I agree that religion divides. Notre Dame is open to all, no reason that Hagia Sophia will be closed.
