Pakistani Man accused of blasphemy shot dead at his trial for Blasphemy
So see if you can follow this
And bare in mind this is an actual national court system one fifth of the way in to the 21st century.
Tahir Nasim a former member of the Islamic Heretic sect known as the Ahmadi was accused of Blasphemy, because he left the the Ahmadi, rejoined mainstream Islam and then publicly declared himself to be the second coming of the Prophet Muhammad.
His assassin Khalid Khan, sneaked in to court, armed to the teeth and shot dead Tahir Nasim, because he (Khan) was visited in a dream by the real Prophet Muhammad's second coming and was instructed to kill the impostor because he was Ahmadi, even though he was not.
Khan was arrested for murder AND blasphemy and is unlikely to even make it to trial because in the years since the Blasphemy law was reintroduced only 5% of those accused have survived their trail and or sentence without being assassinated or lynched themselves by devout followers of the religion of peace.
You could not make this shit up.
Yeah...just listened to the Joe Rogan Experience podcast #1521. Similar harrowing BS is happening in the US legal system. It will boil and curdle your blood.
It’s hard to believe that we actually belong to the same species as these fanatics. I just cannot comprehend what must go on inside their heads and pass for thought process. There is no rationale at all in anything these people believe, and can only assume that by conditioning children from birth with these fantasies, that their brains are unable to discern reality from imaginings. That the legal system in Pakistan (and other places) incorporates such ridiculous blasphemy laws is frightening in the 21st century, as you point out.
@Marionville Do you recall a few years ago when that young man who was forced to go to after school quran classes filmed the "Teacher" secretly on his phone smacking kids around the head for not memorising the holy book fast enough?
Then the kid who made the film was punished by the Mosque for disrespecting the teacher and shaming the mosque by exposing the abuse.
Similar instances have been revealed at Hebrew classes and in Catholic Catechism tutorials since then. Religious people embracing the "Spare the rod spoil the child" interpretation of Proverbs 13:24
When this is being done on regular basis it is no wonder the kids of the devout grow up with a warped view of reality.
@LenHazell53 yes...that “morality” is completely warped. It still prevails in all religions...and sadly other institutions and governments too, secular and religious alike!
These things always sound like they have more to do with mental illness, but then so does a lot of religious stuff.
Exactly what I thought, such Illusions of grandeur are symptomatic of schizophrenia
Institutionalized mental illness.
Other than your story being over a religious thing,,, I'm hard pressed to see much deference between that and this story. [pjmedia.com]
Yes, it is all about thought policing.
"Law enforcement sources told The Dan O’Donnell Show that it is impossible to know the motive behind the shooting since the suspect is not yet in custody, “but detectives are investigating the possibility that Tremmell was killed over his political beliefs.”
once again, the deity is incapable inflicting "punishment" but the fan club is always ready willing and able
There is little doubt in my mind that christians (and every other religion) would do the same thing if it weren't for a secular society and secular laws prohibiting it.
Sadly true
Yep. Just a year or two ago a guy in India was killed by a mob for eating a cow - turns out the guy wasn't lying when he said it was a goat.
