It doesn't get much grimmer than Hedges' view...
though I agree fully, except I think Biden is a bit more sincere than he believes.

What does he suggest? The violent overthrow of the government? That won't happen. It would only bring tyranny. He's a jackass. Biden is fine.

@Allamanda He hosts a show on RT. That loses huge credibility points with me.

I actually think if Biden along with a Democratic Senate is elected we will have a short reprieve from that decline.

I agree that the right wing cults and crazies will definitely maintain and probably strengthen their base. I'm hopeful that the BLM and the Bernie folks will learn from the past and keep the pressure up this time. In fact the fact that Biden is not the choice of the far left may increase their determination to maintaining that pressure.

That's my Pollyanna view and I intend to keep it.

Joe is not their choice and, as a far leftist myself, I'm glad about that. Our infrastructure is not equipped to handle a sudden lurch to communism. If we're successful and the political will develops, it'll take a gradual transition, not a revolution.

@Storm1752 I agree with everything about your premise other than calling the social change Bernie represented communism.
