Should there be a legal minimum age for religious indoctrination?

What would define indoctrination? Religious daycares singing songs, bible study, etc?

No. That is the parent's call. If we want government out of our homes and beds in some areas then we must respect the same for everyone else.

How come we are always ‘born’ into the right religion ?? Because as soon as your born, the rituals the belief system is already guiding you via your parents ! So actually saying there’s an ‘age’ clearly wouldn’t work ! Now schools should not teach any religious studies in any form !

I don't think indoctrination should be legal at all. I think if a person wants to know they should be allowed to look when they choose, not have it forced on them regardless of age.

Instead I think what needs to happen is a more regulated, very secular program for logical thinking, proper research, the history behind how religions in general develop, history and politics and how religious thinking can influence them would be more prudent.

Yes there should but try policing it

Houw about age 70 or older. Ideally there should be no religious indoctrination, but I'd be happier if it were limtied to persons who have already had a full life of experiences.

That was going to be my answer too. (I'm 76 and I think I'm immune.)

I recall an article that stated the human brain doesn't reach cognitive maturity until around age 25. So if there was an age that such a thing could take place, I'd vote for something way beyond high school or driver's license age.

Yes and I'm thinking of a number like 21, and then only voluntary.

I don't think that would work. Although trying to get a law like that through would definately raise the hackels of the church/state separtion groups... it might, in theory, be a good push back to all the 'religious protection' laws. Not sure it would end well.

Interesting thought, and as much as I dislike religion, I would have to say no. That is a slippery slope to giving the government too much control in deciding what people believe/think, and this is coming from a dude that leans towards socialism
