It's a good thing to see a handful of GOP officials balk at Trump's attack on our democracy. It'd be a far better thing if they had more company.
Both Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump posted messages on Twitter complaining that Republicans were not standing with their father, especially those who may want his support if they run for president in four years.
This is the problem, in a nutshell.
No matter that Trump & family are leaving the White House; as long as they have Twitter and Facebook accounts, they're going to continue as a force in the Republican party unless said party can collectively find some intestinal fortitude and say aloud, "We're not listening to you anymore."
The odds of that are low, considering Trump managed to draw 47% of the popular vote and so energizes the Republican base that they would likely form an insurgency inside the party if the leadership shuts him out at this point. They will be looking for revenge for the next 4 years.
