LINK COVID-19 at Christmas: 2020 gatherings could ruin next year's holidays

A full table at Christmas this year may mean an empty one in the years ahead, experts warn.

My family has decided to be cautious this year. I agree with them, but I'm also very sad that this is the way it has to be. Next Saturday a some of us are getting together for a birthday (oldest daughter expectant mom) and xmas celebration. Not all of the kids will be there, the ones that work in a job that cannot social distance (carpenters) have chosen to opt out to keep the rest of us safe. Granddaughter has a xmas birthday as well. This year we won't be able to celebrate her birthday with her. She will be 4, maybe she won't remember this when she is older. I expect not, but I sure will. However, our precautions are so that we can be together for future birthdays and holidays. In the long run this is not a huge thing. It is a disappointment, but life is full of those. If we do the right things there will be celebrations ahead for all of us, and yes ALL of us. That is what we need to hold on to.
