With Trump's days in office dwindling, QAnon influencers have become increasingly restless and militant, urging the president to "#crosstherubicon.”
On Friday, President Donald Trump met with current and former advisers in the Oval Office, including retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, and a person familiar with the meeting said Flynn advocated an extreme way to overturn the November election: declare martial law.
The idea is hardly limited to Flynn, Trump's disgraced former national security adviser. It has also been embraced by the QAnon movement and some members of the Republican Party.
I don't know. Wondering if NIH has responded to the Senate request for updated guidelines on covid treatment. Where are our trusted officials, health advisors? Dr. Fauci? The ones who should have been leading the charge with this all along to keep American people safe? Does senate usually have to send letters to a health agency branch of government to ask it to please do its job because people need help NOW? Why did government ppl attempt to discredit a physician who is trying to help ppl with senate testimony on early covid treatment options, attempting to claim he's playing politics? He is not some fringe quack. He heads an entire department at a major city hospital. He is frontline covid responder, a respected, professional man who saves sick peoples lives. A hero. He is using his skill, experience and knowledge to try to help the sick and dieing. Why does any decent human being attempt to discredit his work and ideas? PLEASE EXPLAIN.
It is this type of distrust that is causing people to lose faith in certain parts of our government. I do not know who is at fault. I am not a Dr. myself. But I do want to know why members of government are being dismissive of a well-respected Dr. in the field who is trying to help. Why would any member of House or Senate feel they themselves were MORE expert on medical issues than a frontline Dr who has expertise in breathing issues? Why would his testimony be avoided all together by some? Why is this vaccine being supported with billions upon billions, being viewed as THE panacea, and other treatment ideas completely and negligently being ignored. Why? If there are no good explanations, no rational explanations, then maybe Trump really needs to be doing more, much more, about all of this. It doesn't look right. Things do not look right. I trust a hero Dr. Over a politician ANY DAY. And even Fauci he's in a government role now, not there helping people breath, giving them meds, helping extend life, not at the bedside. He should be the listener when frontlines are giving input about effective options and pursuing good ideas vigourously. The public should be told what information Fauci was going on when he said no to masks originally, despite it being on record how effective masks were in other nation during original sars. That was a disatrous call that allowed disease to spread and take hold. Why was that call made?
@Flowerwall Who was president? Donald fucking Trump? The anti Truman. He passes the buck. That's why he lost. And he DID lose. You know why? 81 million people HATE his guts because he MURDERED 350K people.
@barjoe He relied on scientists that headed the main agencies. I do not think Trump has any level of medical degree or scientific background. I personally would never ask him for medical advice. I wouldn't have asked former Pres. Obama either and I really like him. No Pres. should be giving medical advice. The trusted medical/science advisors should.
What do you think about this, "Why would any member of House or Senate feel they themselves were MORE expert on medical issues than a frontline Dr who has expertise in breathing issues?" You sidestepped a lot of what I said above. Is it irrelevant to you? Politically motivated? Do you just willingly not question why something as odd as attempt to discount info from respected Dr. has occurred. Let's have honest dialogue here, please.
@Flowerwall What respected doctor is that?
@barjoe One witness from Wisconsin, Dr. Pierre Kory, a pulmonary specialist at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center.
@Flowerwall That's the shill that Ron Johnson paraded in front of the Senate touting Ivermectin as miracle cure for Covid-19. That guy?
@barjoe Why do you think hes a shill? He's advocating for common sense not big money approach. Do you hold a degree in pulmanory medicine? If not, how are you forming opinion of him as "shill"? Who is telling you to think like that? Only fellow pulmonologists are qualified to critique his ideas. I don't hear one doing it. The only run-around answer you're given is "No, studies done" and it's my impression these are being given from people far removed from front lines of covid. I trust the front line workers' ideas and perceptions above any others.
I fear we shall soon find out if the military stands behind their oath to defend the Constitution or their crazed Commander in Chief no more.
People like Mike Flynn need to be liquidated.
All Republicans sounds about right.
