What the hell happened to this site? I don't come by very often. It sure has gone downhill with posters that are either 12 years old or have the mentality of a 12 year old posting pics of topless women (generally full of silicone) or faux intellectuals writing about things they don't understand (my favorite is a poser who spelled "Sovereignty" "suverenity". LOL
Too bad. This used to be pretty cool.

whats wrong with it? one thing, spelling snobs made their appearance. whats right with it is that its operating first premise, atheism and/or skepticism, is carl sagan's premise, so its an excuse for like minds to assemble. thats more than enough. quality of course will fluctuate over time. are you too simple to realize that?

The changes to the site layout are awful too. And I see no way to make it better in settings. I really can live without a million picture of cats.

I don't follow the fake intellectuals, and the photos don't bother me. And, spelling isn't a prerequisite for membership.

So you're complaining?

There are definitely a few who fancy themselves intellectual who probably need to read the directions on shampoo bottles.

Ugh! I must admit this was disturbing to me, too. Still, intelligent conversation seems to still outweigh the other stuff.

It is what happens when a site purpose is watered down and watered down for the purpose of broadening its appeal, when administrators think that 'middle of the road' means anything goes.

When I joined this site I was looking for a platform for a community committed to the values of atheism, secularism, and the ideal of creating a world of science, reason and social justice.

This 'ain't' it.

@DangerDave sounds like your paranoia and projection again, but why ask me, I'm an atheist and democratic socialist and have been all my life.

Good news for you: I'm seriously contemplating departing this site any way. Had enough of the nonsense here and agnostics like you. You can work towards making it a 'pure' agnostic site, with people like you, who don't know what they believe, but promote it passionately, with all the fervour of a true apatheist.

Enjoy your pyrrhic victory.

@admin i think the transition towards an agnostic site here, in the fullest meaning of the word, is coming along crackingly. Too bad. It all started off so well a couple of years back
