"Both sides would come to see it as a sort of implicit bargain–inspired by the summer’s massive, sometimes destructive racial-justice protests–in which the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump’s assault on democracy." If the protests were truly about racial justice, then you would have seen ALL minorities on one side and all non-supportive whites on the other. That didn't happen. Truth is some of the staunchest defenders of the Right are minorities. Are we to think minorities would work against their OWN racial interests? It's about perception on policy differences now, let's be honest. Trump's "assault on democracy" is the very thing this article describes it's cabal doing. Well judging by this article, and the judgement used in the impeachment that has been started, from now on any act of group violence that can be loosely tied to a president's political views or opinions are grounds for impeachment. So on that idea Biden must be impeached now. It clearly states in the sentence above, a bargain between labor and capital was reached which was a response to mass uprisings throughout the land, to which Biden was the head. He is due for impeachment now because as head of the party is responsible. Trump cannot be responsible for capitol riot, if Biden is not responsible for all mass uprisings and secret, possibly illegal, cabal activity in 2020. We don't get two different sets of standards for two parties, it cannot work that way, otherwise the very thing Left is protesting AGAINST (unfair treatment) is the very act they are committing.

And I am going to say it. I don't think Biden should be impeached, but why? Because I think Trump impeachment is a sham. Democrats could make themselves look a whole lot more competent by dropping it, and addressing voter fraud concerns with a commission.

You are not unbiased and most here are not unbiased. We all make individual choices and choose to believe what we want. Many of us think we are freethinkers while we are not. You can gather that from the posts and comments here. While being non-religious, we are still deeply rooted in all Christmas traditions and customs.

You are not going to believe that Trump is an asshole and should be thrown in prison just like we refuse to believe that Bernie is a lying communism loving socialist who cannot think straight and had pipe dreams of becoming president of people who did not want him to be.

So don't waste time in selling opinions, just go have a beer.

I never heard anyone openly admit to it like in Time article, but I wouldn't be surprised if the cabal was actively working against Sanders too. We already saw it a lot in msm just in observation.

@Flowerwall

I disagree with Bernie and his ideas. But other people like me and I, really do not have the time and desire to actively oppose Bernie anywhere else. He has never been a viable candidate for president. I also don't think Bernie was ever considered to be a threat to give enough time, energy, money and effort to actively work against him. Trump even said running against Bernie would be a dream come true. Just like most Democrats, I knew even before he decided to run that he was never ever going to be president. I ask you to find any of my posts where I even remotely alluded that Bernie would be a competition to any Democratic candidate either in 2016 or 2020.

What happened instead was the conservatives pinned Bernie's ideas such as socialism, far left extremism, communism on the Democratic Party and trued to paint the party and Biden with that brush. They succeeded and we lost House and Senate seats. That was not working against Bernie, that was pointing out what Bernie was. Democrats fought back but sadly had to swallow some of that bitter truth.

I would like the Democratic Party to get stronger and make a rule to prevent radical and extreme ideas and candidates like Bernie to not even come close to claiming the party platform to fulfill personal ambitions when they do not have nationwide support. Bernie fizzled out in the primaries two times in a row. That is not ability of being a viable candidate.

@St-Sinner "But other people like me and I, really do not have the time and desire to actively oppose Bernie anywhere else. " So what does that mean? You are in fact part of anti-Trump cabal, but just not Sanders?

I do understand not everyone is going to agree with Sanders. I remember reading he's not truly a Dem, but just calls himself one because he has to work with people in gov. He could be viewed as a gift to your side too. 80% of his supporters voted Biden 2020.

The truth always comes out even when we are not ready for it. Some times the truth can be disappointing. I rather have the truth even if it’s hurtful. It’s more hurtful knowing that my vote was not counted, but was fortified.
